Our Yoga Story

Yoga became part of my life in college. I went to a yoga class at the Georgia Tech gym with one of my sorority sisters and I was hooked. Fast forward 4 years later, I was getting certified to be a yoga instructor. In my yoga journey I have explored Kundalinin yoga, Hatha yoga, Bikram Yoga, Vinyassa Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga.

I am very passionate about yoga because the benefits it brings to my life are immense. I love exploring different types of yoga, designing custom yoga sequences specifically for my clients needs, and working with my clients to learn the proper alignment of poses so that the true benefits of the yoga asanas can be realised.

Our Juicing Story

About 2 years ago, I was blessed with the gift of motherhood. This blessing came with unwanted weight gain and stress that affected my physical, emotional and spiritual health. One of the gifts I had received during this time was a book about juicing. I let the book sit on the bookshelf for a while, but one day, I felt drawn to it. I opened it up and began this journey of discovering the magical world of juice cleanses.

 

My first juice cleanse was a one-day juice fast. That day, I realized that when I gave my belly a break from digesting food all day, the energy got re-allocated to my brain, giving me more mental clarity. Also, the nutrient-dense juices provided my body with fuel that is usually missing in the everyday diet. So the next time, I tried a 3-day juice fast, and every new moon since then, I continued.

 

In addition to the mental clarity brought on by reallocating energy to my brain, I realized that by using all organic ingredients in my juice, I was also cleaning out my body of all the heavy metals accumulated from the pesticides used in conventional agriculture. This was also contributing to my increased mental clarity.

 

Friends and family around me took notice of how these juice fasts were affecting me mentally and spiritually, so they joined in. Every new moon, we get together for a juice fast. During our fasts, we do yoga, meditation, and journaling. We also talk about all the things that are coming up for us as we fast. It has become our time to reset and realign with our goals and intentions. I realized that healing with a community is so much deeper than healing alone, so I started to share on social media to encourage other people to follow along. I also wrote blog posts about this juice cleanse with the schedule and recipes so that people could follow along easily.

 

As we shared our juice fast journey on social media, we received a lot of feedback from people who would like to join us because they wanted to reap the benefits of a juice fast, but they had hindrances like not having a juicer or time to prepare all the juices. On one of the new moons, an idea came through to open this up so that more people can share in this wonderful transformative experience, so we have created a Juice Cleanse Meal Prep Service.
